Saudi Arabia U-14 Tennis Team Finishes Second in West and Central Asia ATF & ITF Championship
The Saudi Arabian U-14 tennis team finished second in the West and Central Asia Championships, organized by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF), held in Muscat, Oman, from January 8-16.
The team was represented by Ibrahim Al-Andejani of Al-Ittihad, Suhail El-Farouqi of Al-Safa, Lara Hamdi of Al-Ittihad, and Laila Linjawi of Al-Ahli, under the leadership of coach Rafik Bouchlaka and administrator Faten Al-Mushawah.
The Saudi team finished second out of eight participating Asian teams. The doubles team of Al-Andejani and El-Farouqi finished second in the doubles category after losing in the final to Iran 6-3, 6-4.
In singles, Al-Andejani finished fourth, while El-Farouqi finished sixth out of 16 players.
In the girls' category, Hamdi finished 10th, and Linjawi finished 11th. This was the first participation of a Saudi girls' team in the U-14 category.
Saudi Tennis Federation President Arij Mutabagani expressed her happiness with the team's results, saying that it was a significant step in the development of tennis in Saudi Arabia.
Mutabagani also praised the high level of play shown by the Saudi players in the tournament, wishing them success in future competitions.
She also thanked the ITF, ATF, and Oman Tennis Federation for their success in hosting the tournament to the highest international standards.
